Auto Spares & Salvage are members of a Nationwide Network of Authorised Treatment Facilities that can process and dispose of unwanted vehicles in accordance to the European legislation ‘ the End of life Vehicle Directive ‘which came into force in 2003.
The main aim of the directive is to reduce waste and the risk of pollution from vehicles and to promote re-use and recycling of materials and components. Under this legislation, the manufacturers of vehicles have a responsibility of ensuring that all of the vehicles they produce achieve certain recycling targets and that they are treated in an environmentally responsible manner. This new law not only has an impact on the vehicle manufacturers but also for the vehicle recycler and for the owner of the vehicle who will be encouraged to dispose of their unwanted vehicle in a legal and responsible manner.
Both of our depots have been granted the status of Approved Treatment Facilities and we have made substantial investment in state of the art depollution equipment in order to receive and process End of Life Vehicles in accordance to the EU directive. Each vehicle will be certified as being scrapped to the DVLA via our electronic link.

We shall require the vehicle registration documentand /or proof of identity. You should complete the yellow section on the V5s and send to the DVLA which will inform them that you have transferred the vehicle to a vehicle dismantler. We will notify them that the vehicle has been scrapped by means of our electronic certificate of Destruction.
Please ensure that all personal possessions have been removed from the vehicle prior to its collection as we will not accept any liability for anything that has not been removed before we collect it. Any vehicles found to contain rubbish will be liable for a surcharge.
