Used spares guarantee
This guarantee will be honoured by Auto Spares and Salvage Ltd UK mainland only, together with your original receipt or proof of purchase.
Where components are sold on an exchange basis a surcharge will be implemented, but will be refunded later upon the return of the old unit. You will need to return your old component to us within 14 days (only if sold on exchange basis) as discussed at point of sale and may be subject to carriage/collection charge. Your old component needs to be complete and drained of fluids. A penalty will be applied for failure to comply with this action.
We offer a minimum of 30-day guarantee with all our used spares (not engines and gearboxes). If in this time the component proves to be faulty, we will upon being notified within a reasonable time period (preferably in writing), supply another unit, supply components to correct the fault or give a refund. The guarantee applies to the component only and does not cover any labour, ancillaries or other costs involved. The item you have purchased has been used and therefore will not be in a brand new condition; hence this is reflected in its purchase price.
Please note that all components supplied are drained of all fluids to include lubricants, this is to comply with current environmental requirements. It is therefore the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure that all fluids are replenished prior to use.
Please note, many late type vehicle components use special fluids only. You must ensure that the manufacturers recommendations are followed regarding fluids. We are happy to advise if required.
Engine Oils & Gear Oils - Mixing of incorrect oil types can cause component failure i.e. The mixing of mineral and synthetic lubricants must not be allowed. Should they mix, it could cause the lubricants to thicken and may lead to major lubricant failure.
The purchaser is responsible for ensuring that the component supplied is correct for its application prior to fitting. Parts correctly supplied by Autospares & Salvage Ltd that are returned may be subject to a surcharge or a credit note valid for 30 days may be given for the full purchase price, less any carriage costs. Any part that has been specially ordered but is no longer required by the purchaser cannot be refunded.
Trade Descriptions act 1968 - The recorded mileage has not been verified, the accuracy of the odometer reading cannot be relied on and should be disregarded.
Engines & Gearboxes
90 day warranty minimum on all engines and gearboxes we supply
We do not offer warranty on any external parts or labour, broken sensors or shipping costs, warranty covers engine block and cylinder head. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure the correct details are given to our sales team when ordering a component. All engines and gearboxes are tested prior to sale.The company will accept no liability under this guarantee where engines fail as a result of criminal or malicious damage, fire or theft, or where the engine has failed or been damaged as a result of being repaired by another garage or individual, or where the engine has been used for competitive motor sport. Further more, the company will not be responsible for any part that has been taken apart or modified by another garage or individual. The warranty will become void.
All claims under this warranty will be subject to a full investigation by our technicians. If it appears that the engine damage has occurred due to over heating or lack of lubrication etc., resulting from neglect or lack of reasonable care, no reimbursement will be made for work carried out elsewhere. If upon inspection the engine has been damaged by the malfunction of any components not supplied by the company, then it will not be covered by this agreement. All guarantees apply from the date of original purchase. In the event of any warranty claim, we may ask you to produce receipts of any service work or parts fitted following installation of any components that have been purchased from us.
Our warranty covers normal use and the warranty does not cover the engine/product for track or race use.
ECU’s & Electrical items are non-refundable and non-returnable.
